Connect & configure
Pair your music service, set defaults once, and tune Run mode to how you teach. Five things you'll touch once.
Connect Apple Music
First-launch authorisation with Apple Music via MusicKit. Cuesheet currently supports Apple Music only.
- 01 On first launch, the app asks to connect Apple Music.
- 02 Tap "Connect Apple Music". iOS shows the system MusicKit authorization prompt.
- 03 Tap Allow. The Apple Music user token is stored in the iOS Keychain — Cuesheet never sees raw credentials.
- 04 The authorization persists across app restarts. You can revoke it any time via iOS Settings → Privacy → Media & Apple Music.
Apple Music subscription
An active Apple Music subscription is required to search the catalog and play tracks during Run mode. Authoring a cuesheet works without one.
- 01 If you authorize MusicKit but have no active subscription, the app surfaces a non-blocking explainer with a deep-link to the Apple Music app.
- 02 Authoring (segments, cues, voice prompts, AI proposals) works without a subscription — only catalog search and playback are gated.
- 03 Re-checking subscription status happens on every play attempt; no manual reconciliation required.
Class template defaults
Your default class shape (segment durations + BPM ranges) is the starting point for every new cuesheet. Adjust once; reuse forever.
- 01 From the Settings tab, navigate to "Cuesheet Defaults".
- 02 Tap "Class template" to view the current default segment shape.
- 03 Adjust segment durations (Warm-up 5min, Climbs 12min, etc.), BPM ranges, or add/remove segments.
- 04 Saved changes apply to every new cuesheet you create. Existing cuesheets are unchanged.
Freshness window
Cuesheet excludes recently-used tracks from suggestions. Choose how recently a track must have been used — last 4 classes by default.
- 01 From Settings → Cuesheet Defaults, tap "Freshness window".
- 02 Pick from: Last 4 classes (default), Last 30 days, Last 90 days, or Never repeat.
- 03 This affects all AI-suggested tracks across My Class, Reroll, and Dynamic Mode.
- 04 You can override the freshness rule on a per-cuesheet basis if you want a specific track to come back.
Run-mode preferences
Settings → Run Mode shows four behaviour toggles. Defaults work for most instructors; tune to taste.
- 01 Auto-advance cues: ON by default. Cues fire automatically at their pinned offsets.
- 02 Beat-sync transitions: ON. Music transitions align to the next bar of the next track.
- 03 Keep screen on: ON. Prevents auto-lock during Run mode (uses more battery).
- 04 Crossfade duration: 0–6s slider, default 2s. Controls how long tracks blend into each other.
